‘The Alchemist’, new series on ifilm playlist

Ifilm’s new series ‘The Alchemist’ has been scheduled to go on air from August 3, 2018.

 The series directed and produced by Mohammad-Reza Varzi, is a historical drama on philosopher and an alchemist – Mohammad ibn Zakariyya Razi, known in the Western World as Rasis.

"One of the greatest men to ever walk the earth –  a polymath, a physician, a philosopher and an alchemist – Mohammad ibn Zakariyya Razi, known in the Western World as Rasis. This great Persian polymath wrote pioneering books about smallpox and measles and discovered many chemicals including kerosene. But what he is most famed for is his discovery of alcohol which he called the sultan of all medicines," a short synopsis of the series read.

Jamshid Jahanzadeh, Fakhreddin Seddiq-Sharif and Changiz Vosouqi are among the cast members of the miniseries.

‘The Alchemist’, made in Iran, is scheduled to be the replacement for the series ‘Lighter than Darkness’. It will be aired daily at 19:00 GMT (22:30 Tehran time).

ifilm English will also repeat each episode of the drama the next day at 03:00, 08:00 and 14:00 (all GMT times). The series is comprised of 5 episodes.
